Roses

As we said we would, we have given you the colored version of Rose. As far as I know there is not an extensive background to this character she is more for concept purposes.

John’s 2 cents: I drew this particular picture about a year ago. In the original pencil drawing I was going for more of a “real” look instead of a comical animated look. There’s not much to this picture  but it was good practice for Matt. There is one thing though, the feet are a little unbelievable, I will definitely try to fix that up when I can but over all this was just a random picture I decided to draw just messing around one day. (Please feel free to criticize…criticizing is good, but if you criticize me you’d better criticize Matt to ;) )

  1. I think I like this one better as a drawing, I’m not sure why. Maybe because all the soft detail is gone…? I also like that she is looking over her shoulder, nicely done, both of you.
In the color “Roses” it’s a little flat in places (except her booty! Oh, can I say that?) like her hair and the rose.
Hey, what’s wrong with having Flintstone feet?

    • I like the Flintstones to but for the sake of the softness of the picture the feet are too fat. Matt also agreed that the color version of roses was a little flat, I’ll have to convince him to fix it but the he gets to nagging. I’m glad you actually criticized this time…now I ask, stop being so critical. :) That was a joke, please keep criticizing…Matt. :)

  2. I have to come see what you two are doing because it is really interesting to me what you youngin’s are producing. I am just amazed by what you do. I have not seen the drawing which I really want to see, but this looks nice to me. I would ask why you decided to make her shirttail stream off the left side? I like the hair but I am not crazy about the shirt. Maybe if it went off lower down on the page? It just does not have the same effect to me as the hair.
    Keep up the good work.

    • I don’t really have an explanation as to why I did the shirttail that way, it was just kind of the flow of the drawing. Sometimes I draw and add stuff that I didn’t plan on adding but just end up doing it in the process. I don’t completely understand what you mean by “If it went lower on the page” concerning the shirt. Could you elaborate for me a little please? Thanks for the critique to, its the only way to “perfection.” :) Its also nice to know that you’re satisfied with our work because sometimes I feel like my drawing isn’t up to the skill level that it needs to be for Matt to color.
